If you grew up in India; you would know Raksha Bandhan is around the corner when Cadbury Celebrations won’t stop playing reruns of its standard Rakhi ad.
While some await the festival; some being the Rakhi manufacturers,Cadbury and some Raksha Bandhan loyalists (Obviously the family groups on Whatsapp who would spam everyone on and before the occasion) For
some others, a lot of others it’s just another day.
After years of witnessing enthusiasm for the festival, I’ve started to slowly understand that Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi is not what you think. Confused? Read on till the end, I promise you won’t be disappointed. Okay?
Growing up with a sister who has been a guardian angel since the day I was born; I always preferred tying her a rakhi over a cousin I see probably once in a year. How would he ensure my protection when he doesn’t even know my schedule for starters?
