If there’s one thing that makes my soul sing it is travel. I find absolute joy in discovering places unknown, unlocking stories they hold, and most importantly sharing them with the world here and on our Instagram. Speaking of which, Instagram often means capturing that picture-perfect surreal moment and bonus points if you can be in the frame and pose with utmost comfort.

But if you have the slightest quest for travel and photography, you know that the story behind those picture-perfect travel photos isn’t that perfect. It often means battling extreme climatic conditions, jet lags, extremely tight itineraries and well the list goes on.

Especially when travelling across coastal states in India, you’re bound to face humid climatic conditions leaving you with oily skin, tanning, and the most socially awkward problem – dandruff!

I’ve learned to embrace the sunscreen life and somewhat save myself from extreme tanning. However, the battle with dandruff has been real.

Why Having Dandruff is Socially Awkward?

I’m sure we all have our own set of reasons for how dandruff can lead to awkward situations, but I think we can all agree to some common reasons –

1. Workplace Embarrassment: Especially when you have one of those presentations and meetings, you tend to focus more on the potential flakes of dandruff on your shoulder than the meeting!

2. Outfits’ Restriction: If only I won a dollar for the number of times I’ve put my favourite black dress, purple tops back in the wardrobe because you don’t want anyone witnessing snowfall on your shoulder.

The hesitation was real!

3. The Calling out Misery: No matter how old we grow, someone pointing out dandruff on your shoulder is a straight-up ‘wish the ground would swallow me a whole’ moment.

Now that we’ve gotten some real talk done, let’s together tackle this contemporary problem?

How to reduce dandruff to a large extent?

Courtesy of the free time on my hands currently, I discovered a dual-action saviour product Selsun Suspension 2.5% Shampoo. Not only does it provide relief from the primary issue causing dandruff but also helps control itching and flaking caused by it, As we know,  Dandruff  cannot be permanently cured off but we can manage it effectively using the right product.  I have personally managed my condition very well over years by making Selsun a part of my personal care product  pouch

But like they say you can’t be sure unless you know more. I realised that using a medicated anti-dandruff shampoo like Selsun containing a trusted ingredient like Selenium Sulphide (2.5% w/v) helps fight dandruff effectively.[1] After reading this, I think I was pretty sure I’m leaning the Selsun way.

My further research told me that Selsun is, in fact, a veteran product in the market, have been available in India for over many years now! Legacy for me is a credible quality when investing in a new product or brand.

I finally went on to ask my sister if she knew about this product, and she did (obviously because sisters ALWAYS know it all.)

I decided to order it and give it a go, because Selsun was ticking my checklist!

Did Selsun Help Me Get Rid of Dandruff?

While every love story may not have a happy ending, using Selsun does! After using it just 2 times a week for the first 2 weeks, it began to unveil its magic! Now I too can #BeSelsunSure.

Dandruff free happy hair = Happy me!

P.S:  I feel like I’ve found a personal haircare friend. Share this with a friend who has been bravely fighting this contemporary battle and let them know that the solution is here! Until next time, #StayCurious 😊

  1. That’s quite a lovely and detailed blog. Agree about dandruff making is socially awkward. I am also using Selsun and loving the results. #BeSelsunSure

  2. Though travel has lots of perks, it does take it’s toll on the hair and skin. Glad you discovered Selsun, it has worked really well for me and happy to know it has been working for you too.

  3. You have beautiful curly hair, which reminds me of one of my daughters who has similar hair. So I know how difficult it is to manage and maintain it.
