Amritsar in Punjab, India, a place of pilgrimage for many, a palace of answered prayers and the annotations can go on. A visit to this colourful city (You’ll know why), made us embrace the haven to heart that it is!
The Golden Temple City had been on our bucket list for the longest time. When we decided to tick it off the list and bring Amritsar to you through our pictures and videos. (Check Top 10 Things To Eat In Amritsar.) We were sure we had to stay at a property as close to as the Holy Golden Temple as possible. And were we lucky or what? We came across Abode Una Xpress, located less than a minute away (You could time yourself, we bet) from Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh.
Spending three days at this beautiful property meant waking up to the beautiful Shabad Gurbani: The Holy Recitals from Golden Temple echoing devotion of the thousands that walked into the temple each day. The view from our cozy room equipped with essentials directed to the Jallianwala Baug from one side and the Golden Temple on the other side.
This meant witnessing the most-lively (And beautifully planned) lane of the city’s magical movement. Sitting by the window meant getting a full glimpse of locals, tourists, travelers walk towards to Golden Temple in large numbers in the morning, more so by afternoon and sundown and then seeing a handful by the end of the day. However, the beauty of this vicinity is that the light of Golden Temple illuminates literally and figuratively all day long!
Our day at Abode Una Xpress would begin with the sweet chants of Holy Prayer from the Golden Temple, followed by a breakfast at the in-house restaurant comprising a mix of delicacies for every kind of traveller (Enjoy the parathas, lassi from the local cuisine or go for the Russian comfort sandwich with a bowl full of cereals, they’ve got every taste bud covered.)
For meals, we tried the room service because their in-house restaurant, Zyka’s menu pretty much consists every cuisine meeting authentic tastes (Props to the chef). Since our food excursions meant exploring a lot of local food, we were elated to have our share of comfort food when dining in our room. What we loved, even more, was the fact that Abode had an in-house Subway, (That is a blessing for travelers from overseas or those on business visits.)
One of the many reasons our trip to Amritsar felt like a home to our heart is because the hospitality at Abode Una Express was heart-warming. In our travel experience, we’ve realised that while you’re likely to spend the day out and about exploring the city, it’s the little things about the hotel you stay at that will add to your experience and stay with you.
P.S: If you’re visiting Amritsar, come back to say what we did: Our haven in the Golden Temple City, Abode Una Express. Until next time, #StayCurious 😊
